Introduction to Creative Writing

This course serves as an introduction to the fundamentals of creative writing across various genres including fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction. Through a series of lectures, workshops, and writing exercises, students will explore different writing techniques, develop their unique voices, and cultivate their creative process. The course will cover topics such as character development, plot structure, imagery, metaphor, and narrative voice. Students will also engage in peer critique sessions to refine their writing skills and receive constructive feedback. By the end of the course, students will have produced a portfolio of original creative works showcasing their growth and exploration as writers.
